I have my exams in the coming two weeks (six just next Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday), so I’m not exactly swimming in free time to do fansub reviews. I’ll try to do at least my translations on time as much as possible, but don’t be surprised if stuff gets delayed. Especially Joshiraku. Have a cool beauty for compensation.

I don’t know what the others are doing that there are hardly any script/typesetting reviews incoming… You should bug them to write more for you.

    • It’s pointless to ask. You’d just end up pissing off the staff.
I’m pretty much the only translator really motivated to work on it.

  1. Oh Vale, you break my heart. But oh well, there’s no point bothering anyone about it, I guess we’re lucky you actually wanted to translate this in the first place. I’ll wait patiently. Good luck with your exams, bro.

  2. Thank you so much for translating this, Vale! I absolutely love this show and I’m grateful that you decided to translate it despite obvious reasons. Take your time, keep up the great work, and kick ass on your exams!

  4. Honestly, I like the hypocrisy of everyone here, no one really cares about how you do in your exams, but this comments shows how you perfectly nailed the show of the season when every other fansub skipped it.
We are all waiting with excitement for the subs.
    Thanks dude.

    • Hypocrisy? Why wouldn’t you wish someone who’s been doing you a favour for good exam grades? He’s subbing for us, dedicating hours of his life, just to allow us to understand a show centered around Japanese puns, cute girls, etc.

More than anything if we don’t even wish him well on his exams we’d be incredible ungrateful little asses. If he asked for help I would gladly try and reciprocate the favour (but it’s probably not something I’m taking)

  5. Good luck bro, pulling off all-nighters are cool if you’re doing it, coffee has never helped me, or I’ve made them wrong. In the middle of the exams I will doze off 10+ minutes and it always destroys the odds of me finishing everything with enough time.

Think everyone finally starts to appreciate fansubbing when announcements like “Delayed, I’ve got exams'” happen.

  6. Best of luck on the exams. Something I don’t miss. Shame a series of this size only has one person working on it. I know it takes a lot of work to sub a series in a team, yet alone just one person to do it.

    • It’s not strictly true to say he’s the only person working on the show (there’s also people editing, timing, typesetting and encoding it, same as usual) but he does the majority of the work since he’s responsible for the full translation as well as bringing the jokes and puns over to English.
